Useful Countdown · last updated August 2026

The short version

Useful Countdown has no advertising, no analytics and no third-party trackers. Nothing you put in it is sold, shared or used to profile you. You can use the whole app without an account at all.

What is stored

Without an account, your countdowns stay on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

With an account, so that countdowns can be shared with a group and survive changing phone, we store:

Your password is never stored in a readable form. Reminders you set are private to you — other members of a group cannot see them.

Who else is involved

Account and countdown data is held in a database operated by NoCodeBackend. Photos attached to shared countdowns are stored in Cloudflare R2. The app itself is delivered through Apple's App Store or Google Play, and its API runs on Vercel. These providers process data on our behalf and for no other purpose.

No data is sold, and none is used for advertising.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your own device. They are not sent from a server, so no reminder content leaves your phone.

Photos

The app asks for photo access only when you choose to add a picture to a countdown. It reads the single image you pick, and nothing else in your library.

Children

Useful Countdown is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your data, your call

You can delete any countdown or group in the app at any time; deleting a group removes the countdowns shared in it. To have your account and everything attached to it erased, or to ask what is held about you, email tony@drof.co.uk and we will action it within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be announced in the app.
